Acacia is a sustainable, dense & a durable hardwood that can withstand the elements.
Acacia is harder than Maple and has less porosity (void spaces between) than a lot of other hardwoods.
The blocks are made 200mm thick, thicker than most other blocks on the market adding extra weight to the block which makes it a truly solid base when being struck with a cleaver.

Turn the block weekly
Reverse it monthly
Do not soak or wash the surface in water
Never leave meat on the surface for prolonged periods as swelling will result
If surface does get wet apply little dry salt overnight
Clean regularly with block scraper or wire brush
occasionally wipe surface with light vegetable oil
If the butcher block develops cracks, then the correct butcher block filler should be used, the butcher block sanded down and then the butcher block should be re-oiled.
